Heads FM 10 Year Anniversary
Late September in 2004, then Radio Hauraki morning DJ, Mark Perry, decided to start a small half watt radio station as a weekend hobby while staying at his holiday house at Mangawhai.
The small antenna was installed on the roof at Jeanette Fordes’ Mangawhai Lodge.
Now, as the station celebrates it’s tenth anniversary, Heads 106.4 FM broadcasts from Bream Tail to cover, not just Mangawhai and the Heads, but also Waipu and the Cove, Langs Beach, Ruakaka and up to Marsden Point.
Here’s to the continued success of Heads 106.4FM. Stay tuned, there’s more exciting developments yet to happen in the next ten years.
