6th Dec  Museum Opening
On Saturday December 6th the Museum will open it’s doors for a Community Day to celebrate the first “Spirit of Mangawhai”.
The day will commence at 5.30 am with a traditional blessing led by local Iwi followed by speeches and waiata. Everyone is welcome to attend with all formalities expected to be over by about 8.30 am.
 At 10.00 am members of the Historical Society and volunteers who have helped to get to this day will get a chance to view the completed museum.
At 12 noon the museum will be officially opened to the public with visitors being welcomed by the Mangawhai beach School Kapa Haka group. For the rest of the day entrance to the museum will be free but donations will be welcome.

January  Annual Mangawhai Community Gala  at the Mangawhai Domain

The Domain Committee has planning for this event well advanced; almost  all stallholder sites already booked and paid for, slight changes to the  entertainment underway, more food and drink options throughout the event  and the many other tasks. As normal, the Committee will be approaching  local businesses over the next 2-3 weeks requesting any donations of  "whatever" that may be suitable for the Quickfire Raffles, as  promotional give-aways or for prizes. October   9am - Labour Weekend Mangawhai Beach School Agricultural & Gala Day
Labour Weekend is our school's Annual Agricultural & Gala Day. This day is a great fun family day out for the local community and our out of town visitors.
Our Agricultural & Gala Day is our biggest fundraiser each year and goes towards much needed on-going support of our children’s learning and educational growth through teacher aides and classroom learning resources.
Starts at 9am with calf and lamb judgingRaffles and Auctions.Yummy foods & drinks Plenty of games and activities Bric a Brac Plant Books & toys  Cake stall The kids favourite "The Dunking Machine"! Pony rides ....and plenty more to keep  everyone entertained for hours!

Club open day   Labour Weekend, come along and get registered - where else would you want to be for summer!
Club members and new members register Saturday from 11am – 4pm
Junior surf register Sunday @ 10am
The 2015/2016 patrolling season will commence, Labour Weekend 2014 . MHVLS Volunteer Lifeguards will be patrolling Mangawhai Surf Beach from Labour Weekend and each weekend and public holiday until Easter 2016, for the hours 11am to 4pm.
