Old Stone House

A unique & memorable experience, rustic, with a hint of pioneering spirit, and a few modern touches for comfort, the OLD STONE HOUSE warmly welcomes you.

Built in the 1890's from local Tara volcanic rock, the OLD STONE HOUSE was originally the dairy for the OLD STONE HOUSE FARM. Both buildings are now fully restored & registered with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

The OLD STONE HOUSE FARM is situated on 32 fertile acres of fully certified organic land, boasting over 140 different kinds of fruit & nut trees, including many subtropicals.
Seasonal, fresh, organic produce, fruit & vegetables are for sale & delicious macadamia nuts & products.
An abundance of birdlife roams freely through the property, each with their own unique & beautiful birdsong - natives, peacocks, turkeys, pheasants & even kookaburras high in the nearby gums

Accommodation information

The fully self contained accommodation comprises the use of all 3 buildings outlined above. Complimentary seasonal fruit & nut basket, real Kiwiana caravan with adjoining longdrop toilet, dog kennel provided, laundry facilities available. The setting is very private & secluded - nearest dwelling (owner) is 100metres away.
