My journey in Mangawhai started 17 years ago, with moving into the area with my small children. I have an established accounting & business advisory business called Altitude Advisors Ltd. My background is in Chartered Accountancy, corporate & small to medium size businesses. I run another business with my daughter, Trinity Swimwear that makes children's swimwear. The togs the Junior Surf kids wear at Mangawhai Surf Club is made by us from our fabric made from recycled fishing nets that are getting cleaned up in the oceans. It has a very sustainable and ecological value in this modern world we live in!
In my spare time, I love beach walks, skiing & boating with my family. There is nothing nicer than enjoying this beautiful place called home and now being able to give back to our community being in this association.
Stephen Owles - Committee Member & Vice Chairperson
As an experienced CEO with an extensive career in Logistics and Transport working for leading International and National companies, Stephen joined Bayleys in Mangawhai as Sales Manager in March 2022.
Stephen has a solid track record of building businesses and developing high-performing teams with industry-leading operational performance across many industry sectors and vertical markets.
A complete professional and team player, you can expect full, open and collaborative negotiations with clients and team members to ensure transparent, informed decisions that achieve the desired outcomes for all parties. Stephen will always look at value-added solutions to ensure all parties within the property transaction are satisfied, driving the best results.
Stephen has a combination of attention to detail and strong communication and negotiation skills, which are all integral to developing and managing a successful team.
Stephen and his partner Toni have purchased a lifestyle block overlooking Mangawhai and are looking forward to immersing themselves in the community and enjoying all the spoils Northland has to offer.

With a thirst for new challenges, Wayne’s work has taken him around the world, with a range of roles in a range of industries, including Wholesale Trade, Engineering, Construction, Energy and Environment, IT & Telcos.
His 35+ years in the business world have seen him take on roles including COO, Executive Managing Director and General Manager in New Zealand, Europe and Asia. A born strategic thinker, Wayne is well known for helping businesses rebound after periods of stagnation. A roll-your-sleeves-up businessperson and professional director, Wayne brings real life experience backed up with consulting expertise across all aspects of the business continuum.
After living in Asia for ten years and then settling in Auckland for another ten, Wayne moved to Mangawhai Heads just over a year ago (2022) and proceeded to ask himself “Why did I not do this sooner?” He loves the vibe and the people.
